    i saw there was a thread alreay about this but i just wanted to make sure about some stuff. it's still awhile b4 DH comes home, but i just wnat to be prepared. Ill be moving to ft. hood with him when he comes back and i wanted to know if i could apply for on post housing myself and what all will i need? thanks

    If you have a POA (power of attorney) that states specifically that you may apply for and accept on post housing then yes, you can do it yourself. Where is your hubby right now? Is he in training?

    i dunno about the army but in the mc all u need is orders to get on the list

    Take a copy of his page 2, POA and a copy of his orders and you should be fine.

    Yeah like it was stated before if you are his POA you can go ahead and get the paper work start but just know the waiting list is ususally out of this world so the best thing to do is have a back up plan. check out some apartments near the base. I just moved to Fort Stewart and the waiting list is so long we will get our next duty station before a house.........lol

    It's part of his service record that includes the names of all of his dependents, emergency info, who's to be notified, life insurance info and such.
