San Diego anyone - Military Moves and Relocation

Hey there, sorry I havent posted in ages the DF just went back to base on the 27th, so I have been consumed with him and spending as much time with him as possible. So are there any SO out there that are in San Diego, the DF and I are planning on gettin married in the near future, and I will be moving to San Diego by the end of June, I was just trying to meet new people now, along with finding out about what kind of jobs are out there, and where to start looking for a place to live for us. someone anyone! I know its a lot of stuff I need to look into and so does he but we dont really know where to start! any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes, there are a lot of us.

As for jobs and apt searching, you'll just have to search around on the net. You can either live in base housing where they take his BAH(which, here is the link to that: http://www.cnrswhousing.navy.mil/mfh/fhousing.htm- you'll have to call about availability, though) or else out in town and just recieve all his BAH.

For jobs, do searches on hotjobs.com, careerbuilder.com, craigslist.org, www.sdreader.com (under classifieds and then jobs), etc.

awesome thank you for the links the job one will help a lot but no point to start looking yet. the housing one didnt work, i will try it later, im happy to know theres quite a few of you out there in san diego, does anyone live in the military housing? can you tell me anything about it, or is it easier to find an apt or something for the next 2 years?

Hi

We have lived here for about 5 months and found it easier to get an apartment off base. We found an apartment (2 bed 2 bath) rather quickly after looking on "apartmentsearch.com" and we even pocket about $400 a month.
I hope you like it here
