    Some advice.

I moved back to my hometown in washington state when my husband deployed.

He's stationed in North Carolina and about a month before he comes home I'm planning on moving back there to get everything ready for him.

I lived there before with him so I know all about the base and the surrounding area and everything but I'm having trouble deciding whether or not I should move/ship my stuff or leave it.

All I have here at my mom's is bedroom furniture. We have a storage in North Carolina, we're going to have to get a new couch when we get there but that's about it.

Now, we got married after he joined and everything, so the military isn't going to move my bedroom furniture for me. It'd cost about 1500 to ship everything, plus I have to drive my car back to NC. Renting a uhaul would be about 1500 as well, plus gas which would be more expensive I'm sure... my car gets wonderful gas mileage. Plus, with a uhaul we'd have to drive slower and probably have to stay another night at a hotel on the way to NC.

My bedroom furniture is OLD. I mean dirt old. Not antique old, either... crap old. I got it from my cousin about 7 or 8 years ago. She got it from her half sister about 10 years before that.... plus her half sister had it for a couple of years also.

So, would it be cheaper do you think to just pick up a new bedroom set on base?

I really have no clue which would be better.

Have a yard sale and sell what you can and buy new when you get there. If its not worth 1500 then don't spend it to ship it...

Dude I totally didn't even think of a yard sale.

That'd be a very good idea. It'd also help pay for the trip there.

I do believe that I love you, haha.

It's not just a new bed. All of my bedroom furniture. A bed, a desk, two dressers, a bookshelf, a hope chest, dvd rack and a few lamps.

I would sell everything and buy new to you or brand spanking new when you go there-

there is nothing like sleeping in your very own bed!!!

I would try and sell it. North Carolina has about a million used furniture stores you can shop at, and some of them are really nice and reasonably priced.

If you shop around, you can definitely replace the entire bedroom furniture for the price it would cost you to drag the "old" stuff to NC. Buy new!!
