Confused NEW to AF and moving to GERMANY!!

    Advertisements
I'm sure their are posts about this, but frankly I'm too lazy to sort through them all. So sorry for repeat ..

Alright, DF is currently in Korea and we are getting married in April. After the wedding he is off to Germany, but I have to stay here for a couple of months (job contract)

Well, the majority of his stuff is in storage with the AF and I have my own apt with lots of other stuff.

My question is, will they pay to move my stuff to Germany in a separate move or will my stuff have to go with his?

    Thanks guys

IF you all are married they should move all of your stuff with his....
All he has to do is get ahold of TMO.....

Thats what my fiance said and he is in the Air Force!

Yep, since you would be command sponsored later it will probably change is tour from 2-3 years in Germany and they will move your stuff for you... but remember you only get one vehicle. You have to get into DEERS, get a no fee passport, visa and a whole lot of stuff after you get married to so that will probably take at least a few months after you get married.

I'm not concerned about the one car thing - that's no big deal.

I just don't want to be here living in my apt with only an air mattress and enough clothes to make it through 3 months until I move over there. If that's what I have to do then I can do it, but would rather not!!

    Thanks for the info.

I know when we went to Germany, my parents got loaner furniture for 4 months till our stuff got there. You can buy a 2nd car when you get over there. Everyone that is coming back to the states sells their second car. That is how I got my first car and you can get a pretty good deal. So there is always cars for sale on the base.

They will pretty much move your stuff when you tell them to, it can be a day or two before you fly out if you want, just remember it takes about a month to get to Germany. But as Donna said, they will let you borrow furniture in Germany (actually DH still has his and has been there 2 1/2 years... oops!!)
