    DB's first duty station...

    Advertisements
So DB left yesterday and arrived at his permanent duty station...Fort Drum, NY. Anybody up there or have a SO stationed there? He said it's nice so far. I told him that his first task is to make friends with a married couple so when I come to visit him I can stay on base!! lol. Anyways....anyone up there?

I'm ready to go back up to college. Home just doesn't feel the same when he's not here. I'm ready for us both to move forward with our own lives so our life together can move forward!

Boy do I know that feeling. Especially now that we are married. RI isn't home without him. College should keep you occupied though. I found that between work and the training program I was in time always seemed to fly till I saw him again.

It just seems dull at home. I mean, I'll drive down the road and just be like..."now what?" Not going to the fire house to see him or run calls with him, not going home to spend the night together, my summer class is over and no summer job...yep I'm ready to go. lol.

He told me last night on the phone that he's in the 7th Engineer Batallion. Also that it looks like he will probably be deploying in June to Iraq :o(

Yea it is pretty boring without him. Weve been really lucky so far. My DH doesnt seem to be deploying anytime soon.

It originally was looking like he wouldn't be deploying until Dec. 09 and that it would be to Afghanistan. I don't know if I should even take that seriously. I don't think he's gotten any orders and I don't know if they have put his unit on a deployment list or not... I'm not too worried about it. Too much time to enjoy before then.

Yea i try not to worry about it. Not only is hubby only in for 2 1/2 more years and hes not re-enlisting (i hope) but were about to get a new president. Never know whats going to happen. Better to just enjoy every day and worry when he actually gets orders. Thats what i do.
