I don't really know when Luis got his (we didn't know each other existed), but he was stationed at Eielson AFB, Alaska for his first one. He was there for 4 years and we'll be spending about 5-6 here.

We are sort of overseas- -in Hawaii- might as well be a different country anyways, lol.

This is my husband's first duty station. He got to basically choose in the last week of A school because he was in the top 2 of his class. I think they let the top 3 get first pick.

Oh and I moved out here when I was 18, 2 weeks after I graduated high school, all by myself while my husband was underway, lol. Don't be nervous- you can do it!

It is possible to be stationed overseas on your first assignment. When dh finished A-school his orders were Japan, Guam, or Point Mugu, Ca. He really wanted Guam, but he took Point Mugu because he didn't want me to be too far away from home the first time.
So to answer your question our first orders were Point Mugu. 2nd were Pensacola, and next we are finally going to Guam

Oh yeah, there were several people who were sent overseas after school. One girl from my company went to Rota Spain and a guy in my brother comapany went to Sigonella, Italy. This, too, was back in 1995, though.
