We just did a DITY a little over a month ago & are waiting on our payment, the last DITY we did was in 2004... We were paid by check, it took about 3 or so months to get the check in the mail.
I found this on a website, maybe this will help. http://www.naspensacola.navy.mil/logistics/arrdity.html # You will be paid 95% of what it would have cost the government to do the move, regardless of gas, lodging, etc. Per Diem and travel entitlements are handled by your service branch's travel department; please consult them regarding per diem, lodging, etc. # However, you should save your receipts for gas, tolls, boxes, tape, and rental vehicles. Your DITY pay (that 95% figure) is taxed at a rate of 28%, but taxes will not be taken out of any amount covered by these receipts. hope this helps you a little! |

I found what I was looking for thanks for the ditymove website it had this:
A fictitious example: A government employee moves their own goods themselves. The weight of their goods and the distance moved work out to a $5,000 reimbursement from the government. The employee submits receipts for expenses amounting to $3,000. The difference between the two amounts ($2,000) is the amount that is subject to federal tax. 28% of the $2000 ($560) is kept by the government as withholding. The payment to the employee will be equal to the total reimbursement ($5,000) minus the government withholding ($560). The employee receives $4440 this is what I needed to know!!! you girls ROWK!!!! |
