Calling for orders

We "officially" are due to be out of here next summer, when can he start calling for orders??? He keeps saying next month, next month, but I have a friend who just got orders and they are not to report until this time next year..... I just want to know, so I can start planning and "hopefully" get dd the hell out of here early!

6-9 months before he is due to PCS is when his order window will open.

he can't accept orders until 9 months before his PRD, they won't approve them until they have funding for them though. sometimes people have schools in between so they report to their school first than the ship or command, that has happened to us every time we PCS'ed we were lucky and all his schools were in Great Lakes, our middle duty station. LOL good luck do you know where you want to go?

Anywhere out of CA.... Choices are MS or VA..... Either would be fine with me! His PRD is NOT until August, but we were told since he is IA, that we "could" have 3 mo added to our shore or taken off of shore our choice. If that is the case we can call now., if not I guess we can't call until November... I HATE WAITING!!!!

sometimes its hard to get a coast to coast move. we could not get one we had to go from WA to IL to VA i swear we were the only people in the world that could not get orders to norfolk. it took 8 years to get us back east. it was so frustrating. i hate waiting too i am so impatient. and my husband is not hes all well if it happens it happens. i am more of a make it happen kinda gal LMAO good luck.

My husband is a Seabee, and we have 2 choices for sea duty, CA or MS.... VA he would go to an Amphibious unit, we were "penciled in" for those, but I just want out of here... Been in CA almost 8 years!

Me too. We've chosen RDC but we can't get anything done until after his Medical Exam. I'm a planner type and I hate uncertainty so this wait is killing me.

I am so bad in his window I was forever on JASS looking to see what was available. Once you get paper orders though you are usually locked in, no matter how big a hissy fit your command throws.
