    Army Graduation Help.

    Advertisements
So, my sweetheart graduates on Friday (September 7th) and since I'll be leaving Tuesday morning, I wanted to know if there's anything anyone can let me know about it? What should I expect? How should I dress? Is there anything that I should or should not take? Anything that I can and can not do? Can I give him kisses or (since this is "our thing") scratch his head or is that not allowed? I need all the information I can get before I go **this is my first Army Grad and still only like my third month "in the army." Thanks so much to anyone who can help! I can't wait to see him!! I'm so excited.

Is it basic or AIT? You should be able to see him for both, but how much time you get with him is different.

You should get about 8 hours with him one day and a few the other. He should get to leave base with you. Good luck and have fun!

I asked some similar stuff the other day. My responses seemed to include that it is a little bit dressy. You want to be dressed nice, but not like super dressy. I was told that he'd get the day off the day before graduation, and then actual graduation would be the next day. I've been told he's not supposed to do any sort of PDA while in Uniform. So, don't be surprised if he stops a hug and offers his arm. He's allowed to "escort," but not PDA. So, Just FYI!!! That's the info I've gotten

he can hug you and give a small peck, but no big smooches or pick you up off the ground when you hug. also you can't hold hands, I would wait till you are alone to do any kind of PDA just to be on the safe side. I would dress like you were going to dinner in a nice resturaunt, (i wear jeans to church ) and when you spend time with him in public, be aware of the rules and that there will be lots of new army people around so always keep to the no PDA rule, you never know who might turn him in.. otherwise have fun and for seeing your guy!!!

    I will miss you SOS...

The day before graduation is family day. They are able to stay with you the whole day but can not leave base. There is some kind of dinner. My's sons battalion says they have to back in room at 900 pm. Graduation day they should get a pass to leave base, once again they have to be back at 900pm. I found this info on my's battalion web page.

DH got an overnight pass the weekend before...then family day the day before, and a few hours on grad day. You should definitely check through the letters you've been getting from his commander(the form letters with all the phone numbers at the bottom) and call to find out when these days are so you don't miss anything!

Good luck and have a blast!
