Reserve question!! - Military Career Progression

Okay, my fiance is going to be attached to a marine reserve unit in October. I went to his new unit's homepage, and they have billet openings. So I clicked on it, and a whole list came up. With 4 columns, first column saying "RUC", second saying "MOS", third saying "OFF/ENL" and the fourth column saying "company".

My questions are..
What is RUC?

Also, my fiance is Navy reserve, but he's an FMF corpsman, so that's why he's with a Marine unit. So he doesn't have an MOS right? He has a Navy rate(8404), but not a Marine MOS?

And, if he met the needs of one of the open billets, can he put in a chit to fill one of them?

I can ask my hubby when he gets home from work. Is it a Navy/Marine Reserve center, or just a Marine reserve center?

It's only a Marine center, I believe. He's going to be attached to 1/25 4th Marine Div Bravo company out of Londonderry,NH.

It says 14221 under RUC? No clue!

I wonder how we'd find out if there are any billet openings for corpsman.

Ugh, I hate how he's in the Navy but does everything with Marines. Drives me nuts.

only because Marines have no corpsman.. it's not in thier system at all.

now that I think about it there wouldn't be a billet listed there because there is no Corpsman MOS in the Marines.. maybe it's the unit??

I get so confused.

I'm sorry if I seem insanely naive!

How would I find openings for corpsman then?

He's probably just going to have to wait to get to the unit to do this stuff.

He will get his orders on JASS it will just say it's for a marine unit or what not. No biggie, it took me a min to remember that there are no corpsmen in the Marines. my friend loved being a corpsman becuase he liked the marines, just not enough to join.
