right now dh is a recruiter for the Navy, he says it is really hard to enlist someone from another branch.. Your db will have to do a lot of leg work to get all the paper work he will need to enlist regardless of the branch.. Best thing he could do is call the branch he is most interested in and ask what exactly and all he will need to enlist coming from the army.. also it will take a while before he can officially enlist, a few months to a year or more. it just depends on a lot of factors. Also he will have to initiate all the paperwork and keep on top of the recruiter while he is in the process. hth.

    I will miss you SOS...
Please be wary of what you post remember OPSEC is not just another acronym.

It's a little difficult sometimes. It doesn't matter where you live though... he'll end up getting stationed away from Great Lakes most likely anyway.

My DH switched from the Air Force to the Army, I'm not sure about going the other way. I would think it wouldn't be too hard, just go through the job training...who knows though. My DH had to go through a Warrior Transition Course to learn things the Army does in combat that the Air Force doesn't, but I can't imagine needing to know anything else for the Air Force...

My brother is in the process of doing the SAME thing, going from AF to Army!

He switching from the AF, because the AF is slow in advancing in rank! We all told him he should've chosen the Navy though!!!! His job with the Army will be TOOOOOOOOOOOOOO dangerous!!!

My DF tried to go from Army, to Air Force MP, they wouldnt let him.. They said his paperwork was screwed up, typical for the Army to say that.

Hes looking at changing his MOS currently..

We're from the country.. And we like it that way

Well I know if you switch from the army to the airforce he will loose a strip, but usually it's not a big deal... I know you can't switch to other branches and be active duty, he will be guard and alot of people or coming over to the airfoce for some reason... JH meets new people from different branches who are now airforce guard every day... I don't think one is better then the other but the Airforce is considered to be more family oriented...

I'm not sure since I haven't done it before but I always heard switching to Army or Marines is a lot easier then switching to Air Force & Navy.
