    Question Graduation rules???

    Advertisements
I was looking on the web yesterday about the graduation and how they get off base passes and one person said that they were off base holding hands and got in trouble...they also were not allowed to hug their wives/girlfriends very long. Have any of you experienced anything like this? Why would they not allow affection when its been 6 weeks apart? Just wondering if this is normal...thanks!

PDA (public display of affection) is a no-no for a while. (Dh said until they hit 'the real AF' after Tech school graduation in some cases!) Sorry. (I'd give him tons of luvin' when you get to the car if you are headed to the Mall or the RiverWalk!)

While in uniform a soldier is not allowed PDA. But he can 'escourt' you around (your arm locked around his).

When I first saw df it took all my strength no to cover him in kisses!

    I am a feminist

True, holding hands in uniform isnt allowed as the others have said. If your man takes off his uniform & puts on civi clothing, he can also get in trouble. You're allowed a short hug at graduation. I hugged DH until he told me to let go, no one said anything- there were too many sailors and their guest doing the same! When you get to your hotel room, you can have fun, but when in public, you have to remember to respect the PDA rule.

I always try to grab DH's hand and he has to keep reminding me, especially in his uniform. It's not fair I know.

PDA is a big no no. To my DH it does not matter if it's graduation or something else. He was an RDC for 4 years so he got a bit psycho with the "rules". I say a quick hug then off to the hotel room. and

It sucks!! I know it, girl!

When I went to my ex-boyfriend's graduation from the Navy he wouldnt hug me at first bc of the rules and then his mom was like "you better hug her, she flew all the way out here for you"

I hated the no holding hands thing and he had to keep yelling at me for trying to hold his. I think we quickly learned we were better off in the hotel, where he required no uniform
this is like a bad movie, and i'd give it a 5 on my netflix

it's horrible, but they can get in trouble for PDA.
    Sad, sad, sad. Pathetic, actually.

Yes the PDA is a no no. My wife still wants to hold my hand in public and I am the one reminding her hey, you can "escort" me but not hold my hand in uniform, lol. Its just habit for us to hold hands wherever we go and she is always on my right and that means once I am back in uniform there wont be escorting of the arms either, lol. I guess we will not go on base in uniform then, lol. It is crazy because everyone at my wifes graduation were pretty much mauling their loved ones.
