I believe that there is a veteran wife on here who's husband did something along the lines of that, and now he's in the civi world making more, I think! Hopefully she'll see this and be able to help

What kind of Aviation mechanic is he? My husband is a blackhawk helicopter mechanic. He's working in the civilian world and making a good living!

I have a friend that worked on 53's in the navy. He got out and now works for civilian contractor out of VA. I know he makes good money. Is there anything you want to specifically know I can ask.

My husband is an Aircraft Mechanic (was an AM in the military), and works as an aircraft mechanic now that he's a civilian. My DH also worked on F-18's and a few other types of aircraft while in the military.

I would suggest that your DH seriously think about going to school to get his A&P license, prior to getting out of the military because he's going to need it at most jobs to work in the civilian aviation world.

If you want to check out jobs go to:

    www.aviationemployment.com

Do a google search for "aircraft mechanic jobs", "A&P Mechanic jobs", etc etc.

My DH is a contractor with a private (civilian) aviation company and he makes good money at it.
