    Help Books In Boot camp?

Does anyone know if I can send DB a book or magazine or anything? He loves to read and he's easily bored so I know he would love some reading material. He's in Great Lakes, Ill if that helps any.

I don't know how it is for the other services, but Army doesn't have time to read in basic training.

DB has been in bed for 2 days because they had to cut his wisdom teeth out so I figured he would need a book, just incase.

When DH was in Navy boot, they said no books. All books that were sent were confiscated. I sent DH a little "i miss you" booklet. It was made from regular paper just stapled together. I put photos us together, some were of his favorite cars, news articles, some pages were to catch him up on his favorite shows. He (and his buddies) LOVED it!

Is he part of the recruit chain of command (ie, RCPO, MAA, etc)? If so, I doubt that he'll have time for anything but company business. I was MAA in boot and didn't even get a chance to take my 2 days of bedrest when I got my wisdom teeth out.

He wont have time, and if he DOES have time, wouldn't you rather he write a letter to you than read?

Im pretty sure they would be confiscated. If he had time to read anything they would probly insist it be the Blue Jackets Manual anyway.
