Frocking ceremony (Navy) - Military Career Progression

What goes on at a frocking? What would be the appropriate thing to wear?

DD & I have been invited to DH's frocking but I didn't go to DH's 3rd class frocking, so I don't know what to expect

I'd say some nice slacks and a blouse, dress shoes and stuff.. I always look professional when I go to the command for things like that.. He'll be presented with a letter saying he's now allowed to wear the uniform of a petty officer 2nd class and a certificate, then they'll frock him. They should allow you to frock him if you're there. I know a lot of wives who've been able to do it. I've missed all of DH's since he's been gone for all of them. But you can bet I'll be there with bells on should DH get pinned this year!

good for you for asking!! I was told to dress nice to DH's (stationed in hawaii right....

) yeah thats only the most casual state in the USA!!! I was waaaaaaaaay over dressed! (it was a dress you would wear to a wedding) and everyone else was wearing aloha attire!! Good luck!!

DH will be in his utilities, so I figure it can't be that dressy. I'm going to wear a black pair of slacks & a nice shirt. Think I'll put DD in a dress

What a waste of time. We drove 45 min in traffic for a 10 min ceremony.
All they do is make DH stand at attention & they present him this letter saying he can wear the rank but wont get paid until a later date.
