I am a Marine Corps "brat" so I am kinda clueless when it comes to the Navy.
Michael is applying to the STA-21 Officer program thing (not sure what I'm supposed to call it ). Does anyone have any experience with this or anything Naval Officer related??Please help me understand what he is going through right now. It's hard to be supportive when I have no idea what is going on and he is super busy and extremely stressed out. Thanks beautifuls!!!

STA-21 is a great program! My DH applied for it but didn't make it. Basically if he makes it the Navy will pay for him to get his degree, and then he will go to OCS and become an officer. He will have about 3 years (depending on the program he goes into, such as nursing, engineering, special warfare, etc) to finish his degree. To apply for it, they look at SAT scores, previous college experience, high school transcripts, evaluations, recommendations, a personal statement, and interview. He has to get his package together with all the above info (except the interview) and submit it. Then he will have the interview ('board').
Best of luck to him, it really is a great opportunity!

My husband got accepted this past year and will be starting college at Old Dominion University (ODU) this fall. Feel free to PM me with any questions you have.
Per Bryan, STA-21 is tough and political. Bryan got picked up with the pilot option and CORE was his secondary option. When he got picked up it was his 1st time applying with the pilot option but 4th time overall. Good luck to your hubby. STA-21 is a FANTASTIC career option!!! |

My husband applied and was accepted the first time. But he developed a health issue and had to withdraw. If he decided to stay in the director said he could come back in. He just needed to get his health in line.
Good luck! |
