    Getting nowhere

DH is going to the promotion board at the end of the month. Yay, finally!

But he has to write a paper on what his unit did in the battle of Gettysburg. He can't find anything. I've tried looking and can't find anything either. All we are finding is information on the battle, not specific information on what role his unit played in the battle. He's asked around at work and everyone said they found the information on google. BUT WHERE SPECIFICALLY?! We have no idea.

I want him to go to the board and do good, pass. But this is proving to be difficult.

    Order of Battle - Gettysburg

This link has all the units. I would take that and cross reference what part they played?

He needs information on Battery C. All I found on that link was batteries A, B, E, F, G, and K. I found one link that states at one point batteries A and C met up, but then were separated and it goes on to talk about battery A. Another link says that battery C provided defensive fires in support of Grant's headquarters. But he needs more than two sentences to write an entire paper.

Have you tried calling the museum and visitor center? They are full of info.

Honestly though, I would have him do all the work. I’ve never helped DH with anything like this.

He usually does do all the work. But since he wasn't finding the info he needs, I tried to help search. Honestly didn't think about calling the museum or visitor center. I'll have to pass that on to him.

I would have him call the local library, ask for a research librarian (if they have one, and if not just talk to a general librarian) and see if he can make an appointment to go in and have them help him research.
