    AFSC Choice Info

    Advertisements
I'm trying to find as much information about 8 AFSC's that I picked. Seems difficult. About.com's descriptions are hard to follow and I can't seem to grasp what the job is about. And one of the jobs that was on my list doesn't seem to actually exist: Fusion Analyst (1N431). Perhaps the list's info is old and the job goes by a different name? I haven't had a chance to talk to my recruiter since choosing the jobs on Wednesday.

    Pharmacy 4P031
    Diagnostic Imaging 4R031
    Dental Laboratory 4Y032
    Knowledge Operations Management 3D031
    Signals Intelligence Analyst 1N231
    Weather 1W031
    Operations Intelligence 1N031
    Fusion Analyst 1N431

The medical jobs I can understand but reading about the intel jobs on about.com is like trying to read a foreign language. The afforums site gets me next to nowhere. People seem rude and are generally not very helpful (I have only searched for my answers on there, have not asked anything on there myself).

That's a good thing to know about weather. Thanks. And I know Knowledge Operations is Admin. Those are all in the order I put them down on my list at MEPS. I would have loved to put all medical but I can't wait for them if they're not available. I also chose General and Admin as my two aptitude choices (should I go to basic without a guaranteed job). I'm almost 27 (in 4 months) and I have to ship before I turn 28. But medical is definitely my top choice.

Hopefully you get one of the medical jobs. I wish I would have not been so naive(18) when I went to MEPs, I didnt put any thought into it and came in Open General. I got a good job but I'm a shift worker and I really hate the job even though it's a good one.

I would totally take an admin job right now, I just want to work M-F.

DH was 1N2 and was working in the 1N4 position prior to his PCS to Lackland. Back in the day his speciality under 1N2 was morse code but times have changed in 17 years. DH worked joint and was primarily doing intel on the NSA side. My best friend's hubby is a 1N4 and I have no clue what he does but he goes TDY a lot.
