I bought dh a ring with his rating insignia on it (much like a class ring). I then had inscribed "Veni Vidi Vici" which translates to "I came, I saw, I conquered".

My dh was a HS drop out, has his GED and was voted most likely to end up in jail!
31 years later he is still AD and a LDO.

    Congrats to your Dh.

    Congrats to your husband!

I've been trying to think of something as well. My DH just got a new ring, so that's out LOL.

He's been wanting a coin holder.. I was thinking about ordering him some kind of special CPO coin and having a coin holder made. (A friend of mine's husband makes them and it would only cost me $60... much less than others I've seen).

    Other than that.. no idea!

I got mine a motorcycle that he'd been drooling over for a long time when he made it.

    Congrats to yours also Beth!

Both nice ideas. Don't think mine would wear a ring though. He is so picky I swear. I love the engraving and meaning though!

A coin holder would we cool. I have been putting off ordering because of where we are, I would have to order via amazon. Thats about the only place who would ship something that size to me.

Because he is not leaving to head to DC for the six weeks he kinda feels left out and like he is missing out. I was thinking of having someone on etsy make his wooden box, another after the fact that is better and a keeper. I just don't know..

I bought my husband two books; The Chief Petty Officer's Guide by Hagan & Leahy and Ask the Chief by J.F. Leahy. I also bought his Sponsor's Ask the Chief also. Both books are available through the Naval Institute Press.
