    Flight Medic

    Advertisements
DH is currently a Medic in the Army and his re-enlistment window is open, with the opportunity to go flight medic. He is in the process of getting his flight physical complete. Does anyone have experience with flight medics or SO's that are flight medics? What are you/your SOs thoughts on it?

Side question: We are currently stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA. If he is accepted into flight medic, he will have 9 months of training in in San Antonio, followed by 1 month at Ft. Rucker. Will the Army pay for my son and I to move to San Antonio with him or would we have to pay for ourselves to move? I know they won't move us to Ft. Rucker for just a month. When he is done with the flight medic program, will they move us then to our new duty station, or would that be all out of our pocket?

Pretty certain that yes you will get to move with him.

Hubs said it is a VERY intense course. He is a Medic but not flight Medic.

Thanks for the info! I am hoping everything goes well with his physical first. He works with a few NCO's that were flight medics and they recommended for him to look into it I hope all works out. If he doesn't renlist as flight medic, he is also eligible for LPN program.
