    Cross-Rate After Deployment

    Advertisements
It doesn't seem like DB will be jumping rate before his upcoming deployment as we were hoping (which would mean he does not get deployed.) Therefore when he does jump rate, he will be gone an additional 6 months for training in FL. The silver lining aside from the fact that he will be doing what he loves, is that we are in the same time zone, I can talk to him any time I want (expect for the 12 hours a day he is in school) and I can visit him.

In other news he is being frocked as an E5 today
    So proud.

It is my impression that he was looking to convert via PTS in which his rotation date was after his EAOS. That and the timing of the deployment would cause him to depart and go to the new "A" School. Just my guess.

Congrats to Phill! I'm not sure about the jumping rate stuff but if he has to be in school, at least he will be close enough to make it easier on you both

Well said. Yes, that is what it is. Sorry, they call it cross-rate.

Yes, what us civilians call switching jobs, LOL. He would be doing something entirely different for the Navy.

Thank you!!! He didn't make a big deal of it, but I made sure he knows how proud I am.
