    Old uniforms?

What do you do with our husbands old uniforms?

John said to throw his away but it seems like such a waste. He can't wear them anymore though so they are just taking up space.

I want to make a quilt out of them. He has so many different kinds because he was a Navy Corpsman.

    Donate

The quilt is a good idea but I really think that if they are in good working shape then donate them to the Thrift Shop on base for those who can't afford brand new uniforms.

I agree. Although I do think the quilt idea is a really cute one.

For the uniforms that won't be used anymore, the Sea Cadets can always use utilities and old working whites/blues.

Thats a great idea. Hes Navy and we're at an Air Force base though. The ones hes not using are being phased out so no one will be using them anymore. I like the quilt idea. I'll have to see what I can come up with. I'm not the best sewer.

I would shred them and throw them away. That way no one can wear them for security reasons.

Once you take off the patches it doesn't matter.

When my husband made chief he gave all of his working uniforms except 1 to people who could use them. I had him keep 1 of each uniform because I'd like to make him a quilt from ALL of his different uniforms when he retires.
