military as a career for myself? - Military Career Progression

I know there are ladies on here who are military themselves so I was wondering if I could get some input from you. On the websites, it's mostly just man advertising so it would be nice to have a womans input.

Do you love it or regret it? What made you choose your branch? What do I need to know if I'm thinking about joining? Anything else that you think I'd find helpful?

I'm not military. My good friend is Navy, she's a nuke and she likes it. But she had a son so she's not going to stay in...

I'm not in yet but I plan on joining the Army. I can't explain why Army. It just feels right. Research the **** out of everything. I'm not saying all recruiters lie but their job is to get people in.

My cousin was in the army and he loved it.

That's mostly what I'm afraid of, the recruiters tell you only the good stuff...I don't blame them but I want the real scoop.

I'm going AF and I'm super excited about it. You have to do a lot of your own research and if you're not already set on which branch you want visit them all...and my biggest advice to you when you visit them let them know you haven't decided that branch yet and don't let them put you in their computers AT ALL until you've made a decision because if they put your info in their computer and you choose another branch the branch you choose will have to fill out a little bit more paper work to get your info switched over and its a pain the ass (happen to a friend) Also don't choose the branch based on the length of basic OR the recruiter themselves...you can totally hate the recruiter that doesn't matter because if you want to join the recruiter should have no bearing on that at all.. I wish you luck!!

LOL Thanks. I've been retired for 2 years already. I have a 21 YO daughter! Soooo I have to be a little over 22 LOL.
