Anyone know anything about special ops/secret clearance

DH submitted his top secret clearance two weeks ago, is it a good or bad thing that we haven't heard anything yet? I'm really that he makes special ops since I know how bad he wants it.

Two weeks doesn't really seem like a lot of time as the average background check can take a week, I'd give it another week or so

With the government, mine took a year and a half The civilian side is really backlogged.

OP, my DH's took about a month initially on enlistment, then when he went back to sea duty, it took two weeks. They have to go interview the references, so if they're not home/don't answer the phone, it can sometimes take longer. And he's not even SpecOps.

Oh god, DF put in his top secret clearance packet months ago and they're just now getting to it.

from start to finish, DH's took almost 4 months, I believe--that included flying down to interview him, his friends, coworkers etc. When he submitted it they told him it usually took 6.

my husbands took about 7 months. they said they were backlogged and had soooooooooo many to go thru

ETA Also my DH didn't have really anything for them to clear, like debt, prior arrests, medical conditions, which is why it went as quickly as it did, apparently, and he had only been stationed at one base for most of his 6 years in.

I know if they have to make sure someone's paid off a debt or expunged a juvenile offense or something that always takes longer even if it wasn't a particularly serious situation, and if someone has switched between several bases it slows them down also.

Yeah my dh's took well over a year for the final to come in but up until then he had a temp clearance to do his job

DB's took a long time, like almost a year. But like other girls said, it all depends on how many they have to process. Good luck!
