    Reenlistment question

    Advertisements
I'm just curious since my husband has about twenty monthes left on his current enlistment. At what time do you put in for reenlistment? Do some do it while deployed? My husband has been in about eight years but hasn't dealt with this before since he switched branches after his first enlistment.

It depends on his rate and other things. He'll gave to ask his command when his reenlistment window would be.

He doesn't want to wait til the day his contract is up for sure because he'll end up with a lapse in pay.

DB made sure to reenlist while he was deployed because the bonus is tax free

ETA: he reenlisted 6 months before his contract was up

I'm pretty sure it has to be within a year of his ETS date. My husband is reenlisting this week for the 2nd time and his ETS date is in November.
