    10 year mark

    So it is looking like dh is going to hit the 10 year mark (his STAR reenlistment is for 6 years so he'll hit 10 years thanks to it only being 4 extra years actually) does he get anything after 10 years, like extended benefits or anything? I honestly don't know at all

    nope nothing. just the normal every 2 year pay increase.

    actually at 15 you can retire. at least i think i remember that right dh was talking about it. You don't get full on retirement but you get something let me go look it up

    Isn't that Redux?? Where you get a lump sum and then a reduced percentage retirement each month...

    no i remember there being like a early retirement at 15 years. But dh just left so i can't ask him... it might have been tested but not put into effect. I just can't remember

    thanks ladies. i thought i read something about partial retirement being allowed after 10 years but you only get it after 60 years of age though.

    now i remember that was the new retirement plan. nevermind. lol yeah the retirement plan that they want to implement is one that you have to wait till you are 60 to use and you can 'retire' at the 10 yr mark.
