    ESWS

    Advertisements
so this is kinda stupid, but whatever.

dh has been working on getting his ESWS pin throughout the majority of the deployment. he finally called and told me he got it! but every time the "Gator Times" (the little command news letter thingy) under "command achievements" and the ESWS list, his name is never there. i know he wouldn't lie to me about getting it. there's no reason to. so i'm guessing maybe they just forgot him? then it makes me sad that they forgot him.

oh well. just wanted to get that out somewhere.

there isnt really a way you CAN lie about it. when you get it, it's an extra patch/pin that goes on the uniform. The command probably overlooked his name when the printed the list that he was on. Congrats to him!!!

I write our newsletter, and I'm always afraid of leaving someone out. But getting that info, especially when they're out, is like pulling teeth.

Who puts out your newsletter, the ombudsman or the command? If it's the ombudsman, I would shoot her an email to let her know. I would LOVE if people did that for me.

If you get it from the Ombudsman, she's more than likely the one that puts it out. I try to get everyone in ours, but I'm at the mercy of what our command sends us. Maybe because this is a qualification rather than an award they don't include them? We do, but our CMC is really big on recognizing all achievements. Maybe shoot your Ombudsman an email and ask if they do include ESWS in the awards. It also might be that they put those in quarterly or something. We go by award ceremonies, not achievement dates (if that makes sense) so it's not until they are presented with the certificate that it goes into the newsletter (which is often a month or two after they actualy achieve it).
