    Selection boards...

    Advertisements
Found this on Navy.mil during a search I was doing.. Thought it might be helpful for those who are currently working on packages for submission.

What Kinds of Things Does a Selection Board Look At?

    A) Performance Ė Job, rankings, average, and comments.

    B) Eval and FITEP continuity Ė Your record should be up to date, and missing no documentation. It is your responsibility to ensure this.

    C) Qualifications Ė Were qualifications obtained early or on time? Does the member have any special qualifications?

Well, I'm what I am and I'm what I'm not
and I'm sure happy with what Iíve got
I live to love and laugh alot
    and thatís all I need

    Good info to have
Finding more and more truth to the words written in red.-B&D

Goodness speaks in a whisper, evil shouts.
    Tibetan proverb

    The greater love is a mother's; then comes a dog's; then a sweetheart's.

Another good piece of info is to have a Chief, Sr. or Master, peruse your record.. they'll be able to help you with pointing out important things you want to really emphasize..

ETA: The Chief who looks over your records should be someone who shares your rate... that way they'll have a practical knowledge of what each item in the record is...

Thanks for the helpful info. This is going to be a long summer for us. I hate the waiting game.

Good luck.. my best advice is just to try and put it in the back of your mind...I pretty much forgot about it after G submitted his package and then didn't worry about it until someone on here posted about results being out soon.. The wait for pinning and the initiation are much harder than the wait for results...

I fortunately am not really thinking about it right now this year. I am focused on DH coming home from this deployment. So I will not have to start thinking about this until August which only leaves me a couple of weeks to worry. And then I will be focuse on trying to get DH ready to move to NH to be a geo-bach while the boat is in overhaul up there. So this year I think will be much less stressful for me than last year was.
