    e6 Results must be out

Because once again, for the 8th time, my husband did not make it. I know Im going to catch a lot of flack for saying this but he has been such a disappointment with this whole e6 thing. He wont even take the time to study for the exam. He would rather play that fu**en Xbox 360. He has been in the Navy for 13 years next month and has spent over half his career as an E5. WTF!

He needs to get on the ball. Isn't it after 14 years in and not getting E6 that they give them the boot? I'm not positive on that.

I won't give you flack for saying it. If he expects to advance he needs to be making some effort. He'd better not come to you whining and crying about it - I'd be so pissed if my DH did that

There is higher tenure for E5.. the advancement sucks for some rates, but 8 cycles is a long time.

It on average took my husband 4-5 cycles per rate.

I know in the AF the E-6 results come out in June. Like the 26th. Sorry about not making it. E-6 is hard.

Is the high year tenure rate specific? I knew a DC2 that was in for 16 before he got the boot (but he DID get the boot).

I'm not sure about it being rate specific..but I know they're pretty strict about time.. so it may be 16 yrs. instead of 14.

I'm sorry to hear that I wouldn't ever give you flack about it, it's not your fault that he's not putting forth the effort to advance. Advancement DOES suck for some rates, but I know plenty of people who have used that excuse while not doing a darn thing to increase their chances. Jason took three tries, I think and two for chief, but he studied his ASS off every single time.

Now, I HATE studying, so I'm not one to preach about it to anyone, but you obviously do need to be studying if you want to advance!

Maybe he'll see the importance of it before it's too late

Same here. Rod took the E4 exam 4 or 5 times and finally got capped, then I think he took the E5 exam 5 or 6 times before finally picking it up. It just sucked for his rate at the time as far as making it quickly. E6 I think took him 4 or 5 tries. Luckily he still had time to make Chief, but just barely. We were within 2 yrs of retirement when he picked it up.

I'm sorry.. I do know what you mean though. My dh is an AZ and has taken the first class exam 7 times. He does study, but maybe not hard enough. I haven't talked to him today, so I'm not sure if he got his results. Good luck to your dh next time
