i have a few questions im new at this whole army life ...
my fiance of 2 years and the father of my 2 month old son just left for bootcamp on monday. I dont have any idea about anything really. It happened really fast he pretty much signed up and went to boot camp a week later. So how long would it take for me to get his first letter? and how often do they get to write? And any other information about everything or advice would be helpful ... him leaving has been really hard on me having to take care of the baby myself and being w/o him we've never been apart like this ... im just sad and trying so hard to be strong because i know hed tell me to relax its only a few months and hes only at bootcamp haa.

By DB is in BCT right now. It takes almost three weeks to get there address depending on how busy the base is and since its summer it is really busy. I got a post card and 4 letters while he was in reception but could not write back cause I had no address. But I get lots of letters sometimes they are really busy so he will tell me he cant write much. Wish you luck.

I am new to this site too, but my Hubby and I have been married for about 5 years. Some times it can take a couple weeks to recieve a letter. My suggestion is to write a letter to him everyday or every couple days so that you feel closer to him and dont forget to put pictures and momentos from you child as well and as soon as you get an address to mail it off to send that first bit lump sum...I am sure it will make him feel less home sick and definately give a boost in his morale.
