    Hi there,

    My boyfriend left for basic at Fort Benning just last Sunday. After a week, I expected to hear something from him by now, but to my chagrin, I've only heard silence. I am new to the military world and I have no idea what to expect. My primary concern is when I should expect to hear from him next and via what form of communication (i.e. mail or phone call). Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

    I know it's hard, but try to be patient. It was 2-3 weeks before I got a letter. They are very busy getting settled down there.
