To my knowledge, even if it was incorrect he'd likely not be allowed time to go to finance and get it fixed anyways, he would have to wait until after basic. Make sure to print out at least the first few LES's after any changes (new to military, new duty location, new rank, etc) so you can make sure they're correct. It often takes awhile for changes to happen but even when they do they can be wrong and it's always my luck that when I need to go talk to finance MyPay is down so I can't print them out so my rule of thumb is to just do it until everything stabilizes. JMO
