Christmas for DB
I know that DB hasn't left yet for boot. But, he leaves next week and he'll be gone for Christmas; I have yet to figure out what to get him. Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone know what you can send and what you cannot? I'm new to the military scene; especially as far as that goes. So, if anyone could help; that would be greatly appreciated

He doesn't get Christmas exodus? (I don't really know how that works though honestly..
) Since I'm assuming he'll still be in BCT and not AIT when Christmas rolls around I wouldn't plan on buying him a traditional Christmas present to send. They can't really have much of anything while they're there and they'll check their boxes to make sure that stuff isn't in there. But you could definitely put together a Christmas package for him of stuff he needs (assuming his commander/DS is okay with it!) Good ideas to send -Moleskin for blisters--pre-cut them into various sizes because he won't be able to -Envelopes (self addressed and stamped makes it even easier for him to write) -Stamps, paper, and pens -Antiseptic bandaids -Qtips (great for ears AND weapons )-Medicated foot powder -Soap -DF asked for laundry detergent--I sent him those detergent/softner/dryer sheets all rolled into one sheet things. I don't really remember what they're called but they're in the detergent aisle and he LOVED them -Hand sanitizer -Chapstick -Cute ideas: Pictures of your Christmas tree, presents, lots of pictures of you, and a cute Christmas card DON'T SEND -Cookies, candy, cake, any of that good stuff -Personal items--Ipod, etc -Newspapers (although I did slip DF the headlines in my letters )-Books, magazines -No nudie stuff! ![]() I know theres sooo much more stuff on both lists that needs to be added, especially on the don't send list but I can't remember right now and DF is asleep so I'll ask him tomorrow morning and come back and edit if he can think of anything more.

I don't know if he'll be able to fly home or not because of the distance and everything. I don't know though :/

He will probably get exodus and dont worry about money because the people there help them find the best deal wheather its flying or taking a bus. Mine took a bus and it was less than 100 dollars. If not just do a care package and nice card and letter. ONLY stuff he can actually use though and be considered necessities
