Question?
My DB is graduating from boot camp for the Air Force next Friday and I just got a letter from him saying to make a sign for him for the Airman's run so he can easily pick us out. I have no idea what to put on it, and I don't know how I'm going to bring it on the plane with me when I go down there...so my question is did you ladies make yours before you left or after you got to your hotel? Also, what did you write on the sign? If you have any pictures, I'd love to see them! Thanks so much in advance!

I didnt make a sign but I saw many there. From what I saw they said things like "CONGRATS AIRMAN _______!!!" You can write anything as long as it's appropriate. If you want to make a sign, I would wait till you get to San Antonio. There are 2 Walmarts I think, so I'm sure you will find a store.
![]() PM me if you have any questions about grad

I didnt even recognize my BF at the Airman's run at first! His sister pointed him out and he wasn't supposed to but he pointed at his mom and me! It was the best feeling ever! Try not to show too much PDA..i know this is hard. but they get in trouble for it! :[

my man is a marine but a sign sounds so cool. i wonder if they do them for marine runs. ima have to write and ask. but i couldnt tell you what they look like but make it something for him that will make him smile when he sees it. i dont think there are rules so whatever would make him happy to see. because another thing is he might want to keep it for the memories. i have a family friend also in the military and he has a box of letters and all that jazz. goo luck. let me know how it goes.

I didn't make a sign, but a lot of people did. You will probably have just a little bit of time in your hotel room. You could just bring some markers and posterboard. It depends on what time you're flying in and if you're renting a car, etc, on weither or not you'll actually have time to go to the store. There is a walmart there, among other things. The sign isn't necessary, but it is nice. Just keep in mind you will be holding on to it through everything else that day.
If you need any help on what happens that weekend just PM me. |

The Airmans Run was my favorite part! Yeah, totally make him a sign! Do his name big and bolded so he sees it good! Do something like "so proud of you DOUG" And do his name HUGE! using Doug as an example of course
And if you talk to him before, make sure you tell him the color of the poster. Do like neon yellow or something.

I made my sign for my DH when I got there to TX since I knew it wouldn't fit into my luggage. I bought a foam core board, spray glued the blown up image (did it at Kinko's) and fashioned a telescoping handle that I was able to prop up high in the air and then lower as they came in closer. My man told me he saw my sign from the bridge, about 1/4 mile away or so. He said it certainly gave him a thrill to see it and it gave him an extra bounce in his step. He loved it. His entire flight saw it and alot of them were so jealous. He said even his T.I. had said that it was so nice that I had made the sign. Do it, there'll only be a handful of people doing it and you wanna make sure you stand out in the crowd.
Oh and right after the Airman's Run, I was able to run back to the car to throw it back in there before getting my seat for the coin ceremony. |
