DB is about to leave for bootcamp and I was just wondering how long exactly will he be gone? I just wanted to know so that when he does leave I can start my counting how many days til his return!

Your DB should already know his BMT grad date, assuming nothing goes wrong of course. But yeah, it's 8.5 weeks.

Basic is now 8 weeks. There is a chance he could be there longer for various reasons but 8 weeks is the length of the course (the first couple days don't count as part of the training, 8.5 from when he gets there).
http://www.lackland.af.mil/units/737trg.asp There are some things you may want to read there just so you know what's going on and what to expect. Under the family & friends section. I know when DH went through basic there was a calendar somewhere on there to show was was going on week by week and when he would graduate but I didn't see it. It may be there somewhere, I just forgot where I found it, BMT was 6 weeks then though.

Also, if you go to the BMT section of airforce.com, they have a week by week outline of basic. You can read up on what he is doing and countdown that way. But their week does not start on a Sunday like ours does. I will have to ask DF what day it is.
