Fort Benning Hotels

Hey ladies, I was hoping for some help about the Ft. Benning/ Columbus area. My bf said there's some really unsafe areas around to stay in, and I was hoping you guys to tell me where to avoid/ where is good to stay. I think he said it's somewhere like victory drive is a really bad area. is that familiar? We're trying to book a hotel for his graduation next weekend!! any recommendations of hotels to stay at would be great!

Yes, stay away from Victory Drive although you will have to drive on it to get into base. Just lock your car doors and don't stop anywhere on that street. Anything within 10-15 mins of base is not a safe area really. Let me look online and see if I can find the hotel that some of the girls stayed at when I went down. I personally stayed on base, but you can't do that without a military ID.

Here is the Laquinta some of the girls stayed at. It is in a safe area, and their rooms are really great, big very comfy beds, flat screen TV's...:

I stayed in that room.

Those rooms were great, and pretty reasonably priced. The drive to Benning wasn't bad either.

The further away from base you are the better off you are. The closer you get to base the worse off you are.

I'm staying at Extended Stay America - Airport. It's like 10 minutes from base I guess. It has a full kitchen which I need for my kid. I'm paying $62 a night.

I stayed at the LaQuinta on Macon, its definitely not as nice as the one on Warm Springs. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the most secure and the hotel was full of super creepy guys who were there using the extended stay option. I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying there alone thats for sure. I think if you stay on Exit 7 or later you're okay. I think someone suggested to us Exit 10 but I dont know what hotels are on that exit, we stayed on Exit 6.

You need to go somewhere around exit 7-10 or you could stay at the post lodge? im pretty sure they have one.
