Family Day/Graduation
Hey everyone...I can't believe I am actually posting a question about this...close to only a month away...I feel like it's been forever, but with there only being a month left is amazing! Anyways, I am flying down to SC with DB's family for both days....I am just wondering how the balance factor will work out with having his family there plus me.....I'm worried I'm not going to get him "all to myself"....not trying to be selfish...but I'm sure you all know where I am coming from....
Has anyone had experience with going to these events with the family and want to share....thanks guys!

Before I met my husband, I dated a guy who joined after we started dating. His parents and I flew down to Ft. Benning to the graduation. I was still in highschool and he was only 19 so we didn't get much alone time but I was with him everywhere he went and his parents didn't have a problem with it. And with my husband when he comes home from deployment and we visit family members they all understand I need my time too. So I think you shouldn't worry about it, I think his parents will understand you guys need "rebonding" time.

I left it all up to my DF. He told his family when he wanted to spend time with me. They respected our time together and it worked out really well. But I also enjoy being with DF's family, so even when we were with them I still had a really nice time with DF.

Hey when does he graduate? My boyfriend graduates Nov. 13, I'm excited, and kinda worried about splitting time with his family too. PM me if you want. =)

My DB graduated from Ft Benning close to a year ago. I went down with his parents, were close, so we hung out with his parents during the day, and most of the night was us. It was a nice balance, its hard having to share but i was just so happy to see him...and after we dropped him off after family day, i had his parents to lean on. I wasn't alone. My friend is heading to Ft Benning next weekend to see her DB graduate, she's excited cuz she gets her DB all by herself but then she's also alone after she says goodbye. Personally it was nice to have his family there too

On DHs Family Day/Graduation Day at Ft. Jackson, I remember being so jelous when his dad and stepmom came. I wanted him ALL to myself. Well it ended up being a S**ty day. I know its his family but I didnt get any alone time with him and I hardly got a word in for his dad. So I had to wait until after graduation at the hotel to get "my time" with him. I hope you get time with your DB.
