Don't know what to think....
I found out today that DB got the ranger contract. This means a lot more training, being stationed stateside, shorter deployments, but more dangerous. He also won't be able to come home now. I am not sure how I feel about this. This is so so great for him and it definitely has its perks. At the same time it makes me feel sad because I won't see him and I have no idea when I will see him again. I need to go to his graduation. His training will be months long... It has already been 3 months. I want to see him!! Ughh! I don't know why I am feeling this way. I knew that he may get it and at the time I thought it would be great, but now that it is reality I am confused about it. Another thing that really pisses me off is that his brother had to tell me online! His mom still won't contact me when she finds things out! Grrrrr! I just don't know anymore...

It's okay!!My SO chose the special forces option. Like, his MOS is so that he can try for special forces. Even though he was originally going to go for ranger, they were like "there are a lot of special forces slots open. You should try for it." and he said yes. Be happy for him! Especially since he'll be deployed stateside only.

all you can do is be happy & supportive of him. this is an incredible opportunity for him. like BJo said, not everyone gets the opportunity at Ranger.
my best friend is army, and was going to go ranger, but his superiors advised him to try for Special forces. hes out there right now testing. and it sucks cuz i cant talk to him & i cant support him like i usually do, but its a great opportunity. i cant be selfish abou it |
