Military ID, Medical Paperwork & myPay
I was hoping someone could help me out...
I think as most of you know my wife is in BCT and has been for a few weeks. Anyways, she asked me the other day if I was able to get her "myPay" set up in AKO. I tried yesterday and her SSN still wasnt in the database when i tried to set up her PIN... I figured it can take a little while so I am just making sure. Reason I ask is that she was told by the cadre that they should be getting paid this coming Sat. My next question is that I am wondering how long it should be until I get my Medical and military ID paperwork... I guess I need to be uploaded into the DEERS system and that is done once I get my paperwork?? Thanks!!

I didn't get my paper work for almost a month after he'd been in. There should be a form for you to sign, and send in to enroll in dental, then your DEERS App. which you'll just take to your nearest base and get your ID. You'll need your license and SSC to get it. I don't know anything about MyPay. I'm trying to figure that out myself, right now.

Yep...your spouse has to set up there own mypay...in this case (your wife) and with your ID and all of that they will send it to you.... I think it took about 6 weeks for me to get it and then when you take your ID paperwork to a base that issues IDs near you you will automatically be enrolled in DEERS...but MAKE SURE that you call TriCare after that and get enrolled in TriCare PRIME if your wife is active duty...regular tricare doesnt pay for everything and you have copays...nobody told me that and I found out the hard way...with an ER visit...not fun. PRIME is for active duty members and dependents and it is totally free to you so make sure you get that doen... but yeah it will take a while for you to get your paperwork...

I got all my paper work in the mail. Except for the mypay information. All you do is take the paperwork in (they will give you a list of places to go to) with 2 forms of ID (drivers and social). The insurance stuff, if your getting dental you have to fill a form out and send it in. And acutally, DH did the insurance and DEERS on Thursday at reception, and I got all my information on that following Monday (3 mailing days).

Actually, I set up DH's myPay account through his AKO.... you should be able to access it a few days after her first pay goes through.
Also, once you get your DoD login info, you can enroll in Tricare online. Do you have your own AKO account set up yet? |

You have to set it up through your SOs account. He/She'll be your "sponser." My DH set mine up before he left for boot. If you have access to your SOs account, it shouldn't be too difficult to do.
