my boyfriend just let for bt 6 days ago and its been really hard adjusting. i just got back from college for the summer and dont really have anything to do. im new to the site and just looking for some support. these past few days have been really hard and none of my friends here seem to understand. could use some advice getting through the next 9 wks, thanks

I would spend a lot of time with other people, sitting at home alone is not a good idea. I just did things to keep me busy. You can make it through, the people here are wonderful I hung out on this site a lot when DB left. He left in the summer too so I didn't have school to keep me occupied.

the first couple weeks will be a little rough and numb. but i promise after that you will start accepting it and time will start flying by. i know the summer time is hard because there is no school to distract you. but take this as an opportunity to try some new hobbies since you have time. dont sit alone. he would want you to be having fun and enjoying life. your relationship with him will truly blossom through all of this. write lots of letters to give him a piece of home. time will start flying by. hang in there!

Hang in there! You'll get through this! We'll help you! The first week or two SUCKS. But it does start to get easier. You'll still have bad days but the bad days usually get outnumbered by the good. Like everyone said, keep busy and write TONS of letters! Stay strong for your DB he's going to need your help to get through this but don't worry if you break down, its completely okay to cry and have a terrible day!

My SO left 6 days ago as well! He's at Ft Benning.. Where's your boyfriend??
I have been having a really hard time too, but MSOS really helps! The girls on here are great, and if you're having trouble staying positive, they'll support you.

It's not easy, but it helps to write letters to him, even before you have his address. That's what I've been doing, and it makes me feel a lot better.

he is at fort leonard wood in MO. i got a phone call from him monday when he was at the hotel and then tues morning from the airport. im just waiting for a letter so i can send him some too. how long did it take before you guys got your first letter?

i got my first letter while df was in reception, then i got his address and a letter from bct just a few days after he got there
