What should I take to my DB?
So I'm going to his graduation on Oct 19th and I want to bring him some things that he's been without for a long time. Like for example, I'm going to put as many song on my ipod that he would like since he hasn't been able to listen to music in so long and he writes about how much he misses it (and me
.) So that way he can listen to music for a little bit the two days that I'm there. Um, maybe some candy. But I don't know what he can take to special training. If he can take things with him, then I would like to make a photo album or scrapbook for him to keep there with him. He'd like that a lot. But I don't know if he can have something like that. Let me know if you know. Also, I posted this in another post but it got ignored or maybe no one knows, but what should I expect when I go to his graduation? How do people normally dress? My sister wonders if he'll be any different. For those who went through the process with their DBs or DHs, did they seem different to you? He doesn't seem different at all from what I get from his letters. Same ol' Joe. I just want to know as much as possible so I'm prepared.

I just give up already...

Well not much I can say but I think everyone is different.... he might be the same he might not. I know that some guys change a lot and others stay pretty much the same. For me my DH seemed pretty much the same to me after he got done with bootcamp and A-school but everyone is different. Hope you figure everything out.

my db was pretty much the same after he graduated bootcamp and he was just happy enough to sit in a hotel room with me and his family and talk...so every guy is different...hope you have a great time though

when my ex husband graduated BCTand AIT I work a nice skirt/top combo thing. people were dressed all kinds of ways. some nice some not. my ex was different and even more different when he finally got home 3 yrs later, he was shipped to korea immediately and was there for 2 yrs then shipped to Iraq for 1 yr. i know not all guys changed but he did. we are now divorced and my new boyfriend is great. i didnt take anything for my ex bc he was coming home for 2 weeks r&r before going to korea after he graduated. but it was definately and awesome ceremony. i wish i had had a video camera to record it. i hope that answered your questions.

We dressed up a little but not too fancy. I wore a nice sweater and nice pants. Some people were in jeans and tshirts though. I felt we should look nice being that it was a graduation ceremony. jmo The ceremony was pretty long and very crowded. We got there about an hour early and most of the seats were full. It was really cool though, you'll never forget it.

Its already pretty chilly up here and will only get much chillier by the time you come up. So, I'd plan to bring a few layers. I'd definitely plan on wearing long pants and sleeves and I'd also bring a medium weight sweater/jacket to go over. The day time highs around that time will probably be around 50's but evening will really cool down a lot. So, definitely bring a few layers with you. I wouldn't dress up tooo much because it isn't really "formal", but of course you want to look nice
so maybe some nice slacks and a pretty dressy top or something along those lines. I didn't go through the bootcamp process with Jason but I'd say it's normal for them to come out of boot as a slightly different person. The whole point of bootcamp is to make them what the navy wants them to be. I think everyone is bound to change, at least a little bit. As for presents, I really have no clue but I think the music on the ipod is a great idea!
