oh man to bad you didn't say something sooner. I got John a really cool watch off ebay. It has an anchor and says USN at the 12 o'clock. Its one of those that you can clip those charm things to the band and they had navy charms. I thought the charms were cool but I knew John would think they are girly. He loved the watch and the lady I bought it from had a lot of them.
But for midnight shopping at wallyworld I still say a watch is good. They can't have big stuff yet. When John graduated he was told he can come back with a watch and a tie clip. Good thing I didn't get him something else! The tie clip they can have is sold on base and it just a boring old plain Jane silver thing but the watch can be anthing as long os its not huge and flashy. John siad it has to be tasteful and "go" with their uniforms |

candy would be ok but he will be going back to the recruit barracks for the weekend and they can't have any type of food or electronics so what ever you get unless its the tie clip or a watch will have to stay with you. But the guys always share DVDs and CDs at the barracks where Johns at right now in A school. some of them have their playstations or xboxes and they sit around playing those for hours.
