My db hasn't even been at bootcamp long, but I've been having a strange time adjusting. I'm typically really strong, but I think the change of not having him here is really affecting me, especially knowing I won't see him much for months. I haven't been crying all the time, but I'm having trouble sleeping...staying up way later than usual, and I just don't feel like eating. I sometimes feel like I'm just wandering around lost, mostly when I'm at home because that's where I'm used to being with my bf. Is this the same kind of thing other people experience? I hope it doesn't last long. Part of me just wants to keep thinking of him constantly, whenever I'm not at work, because I don't want to forget him. I'm scared of somehow forgetting all the little things he does that I love so much.....the way he kisses my hand...the way we talk and laugh together. The list is endless. I sooooo want to be a "good" and strong navy gf! I feel like I shouldn't even feel so sad! It's not like we're never going to see each other again! We're so lucky to have each other, and we are still in each others' hearts...so we're not really apart. I just need to focus on taking things one day at a time.

Those feelings are normal, really normal, one day at a time..he still loves you that hasnt changed, but what he is doing has, he is doing something to better himself to make a better future...now you do the same...he is really busy, best advise is for you to keep busy, oh you will have your low days, but one day more without him is really one day closer to seeing him, write him, when you get an address and hear from him it will make you feel a whole lot better...

I think what you are experiencing is very normal. I am normally pretty strong, pretty level headed. When Mike left for boot camp, oh man..did I crumble! But you know what, I am so much stronger now because of it (and the military in general). And our relationship is so strong as well

Things get better, just stay busy. It may seem impossible at times but just focus on the good things. If you can't sleep and its becoming a real problem, try tylenol pm. That's what I do. With the stress of finals and missing my df, sleep..ha. But another thing that helps you focus is making a paper chain. Each link representing a day until his return. I think you will be fine, just keep chatting with all of us on here and things will start feeling better. Also I hung out with his parents A LOT. Pretty sure I drove them crazy. But, I was scared of forgetting about my df. So I understand. You can do it. If you want, feel free to pm me. I'm more than willing to talk.
