So I heard from DB....
...or, more precisely, his grandmother.
She gave me a call because DB left his cell at home and when she went to charge it to take it to him for his basic graduation (weekend of Nov. 30-Dec 2), she found a voicemail from me and decided to let me know how things were. We had quite a conversation. She's a funny, classy lady. She also lamented that I was basically alone on Thanksgiving; she said if she had known I was at the dorms alone she would have brought me over to spend the day with the family. What a wonderful person. i hadn't got the chance t talk to her before DB left, but I'm glad I have now. She also gave me his address. While it's a little bit close, I found the letters I have written to him over the last couple of months and mailed them off this morning. I think this was a case of DB's absent-mindedness, seeing as I know I gave him my address to send his address to... in fact, I tucked it into his wallet, just so he wouldn't lose it. (I love that man, but he is sooo absent-minded.) His grandmother also mentioned how lonely he had been for most of his training. I don't expect him to write me too often, largely because I am the one who actually likes to write between the two of us, but I was going crazy for lack of hearing anything. She promised that as soon as she handed him his phone that she would tell him to call me. She also said that if he forgot (again) to send me his address, that she would do so. Thanks be for this lady. |

Yeah, it certainly did. I so wish I could go with them for his graduation, but between class, work and my fraternity's initiation stuff going down this weekend, I just can't.
You ca bet anything, though, that when I hear from him I will likely turn into a huge ball o'goo. And indeed, she's seriously good folk. :-) |

Grandmother's are the best. PK's grandparent's always send me cards and stuff. They are sweet. And I know how the absent-minded thing goes. PK is one of the worst. I tell him things many times, but it slips right out. Haha.

I am so excited. As soon as I got home from picking up my recital music for next semester, I jumped on my computer and had to tell someone... and I knew you all would understand better than most. I don't think I have been so excited over the thought of a phone call since I was in high school.
