ok well i wanted to get dh a present for graduating. he has been wanting a fossill watch but they didnt have the one he wanted in stores. i leave tuesday to see him so ordering off the internet is out of the question. so i though about getting him some more of his cologne(sp)? are they allowed to take that with them to ait? thanks

They are, but stuff gets stolen pretty regularly. Why not just wait until after he gets there and see what he'd like to have? I know DH and his bunkmates have a system going...they all share everything. They were missing some haircutting clippers, a short extension cord, and an xbox controller So that's what he got his first week there.

yeah- thats what i have decided to do. that way i know he will use it and want it. you are so lucky to be close to him. dh is going to be like a 7 hour car ride just to get to see him if he gets passes..........and i dont drive(im working on that though)so that might be kinda hard! where is he stationed at?

He's at Ft. Sam. I moved DS and I 1300 miles to be here with him...and I am SO glad we did! We have him on weekends and most weeknights

so you live off base, but close to him. my dh was talking about us moving near there, but i dont understand how it works at all, plus i dont drive. i knew about the weekend passes and i thought that it would be too much just to get to see him on some weekends.... i didnt know you got some weeknights too. i guess it depends on where you go though!

My DH will be over 800 miles away during his AIT, so any weekend visits are totally out of the question. No 15 hour trips in my future, LOL.

well, my dh will only be about 5 or 6 hours away, but still too much for me considering i am just now starting to drive. Plus, the way they are about telling them, i cant put my life on hold waiting for a phone call when he gets a pass.

Haha....DF is over 1000 miles away.....but I'm going to see him on Thursday!! With his AIT...he was able to take stuff with him, but after reception, he had to turn it all in until he earned it back. That took about a month. In that time though, I did specifically send him some clothes and a cologne that he was wanting....he was able to open the box, but had to turn it in until he got his pass. Now he has all of that stuff with him on a regular basis....AIT is 100 percent better than BCT was....haha.
