god i hate this...

me and DF have been together for 3 years!! we spent every waking moment together completely inseperable, then he left for bootcamp 16 months ago last thursday and i crashed, but then he fell back onto earth and he had good work shifts and as pathetic as it may sound we talked from 5-1 every single day and more on his days off.

He's been deployed for a month and a half now, with no phone calls, no letters, no internet.

He gave me so much hope that nothing would change except the distance and we'll still talk all the time and everything will be just fine. Then i got the news that he works the night shift there, which is the exact time i get out of school until i go to bed. He told me that he will try and try and try to get a different schedule, but he didnt get it.

Thats what i hate. i hate having my hopes up and getting the complete opposite. he has never lied to me or mislead me in any way but i feel like i was mislead, its not his fault because he had no idea how bad it would be.


I get up at 3 am once a week to have the only chance to talk to him on MSN for an hour or so - im lucky tonight its been 2 hours.

It sucks but the military doesn't care about peoples relationships...just getting the job done. Feel better soon hun

DF was able to switch shifts after a month or so...he was on nights to start and went to days and now back to nights...so you never know! hang in there!

Just hang in there. It sucks, but there isn't much you can do. And remember its not the quantity of time you get to talk. Its the quality.

awww i'm sorry....i'm gonna hate that...i have yet to experience deployment so i've only not seen my Dh for 3 months....but it sucks....i hope things get better....

I know its quality over quantity, but usually either one of us is in a bad mood over it all and having so short time, its never resolved right. The extra hour i got last night was amazing, we started off on a bad foot but everything quickly turned around and we were all mushy lovey-dovey. he FINALLY got money, and he told me he was going into the city today to buy me an "arabian gift" lol . YAY
