hotels near ft.benning

hey everyone. ok my dh is in bct at ft.benning. his family day is november 14th with graduation on the 15th. i am going to need to rent a hotel and i was wondering if anyone on here has been near there and could give me any suggestions on hotels. also ~what is family day and graduation like? and can someone tell me what a pinning is?

i have been to ft. benning and columbus 4 times. The last time i was there i stayed at an Extended Stay of America. It was awesome. I also have a good cabby that i always use when i am down there. pm me if you want more information

I live in columbus, which is right there with ft benning. If you are going to stay off base- make sure that any hotel you stay at is at exit 6 or higher off of 185. It gets shady after exit 6(macon rd). The hotels that seem to be popular are Four points sheraton, Hilton Garden inn, Comfort Suite on Armor rd, and holiday inn on manchester exp. I hope this helps you out.

my brother did osut at ft benning. my mom & cousin flew down for his graduation.

they flew into atlanta & took a shuttle to columbus, then stayed on base, where they got a really nice room w/ a kitchenette. you should be getting info on doing this, but it'll prolly come somewhat last minute.

from the pics i saw & what they told me it's pretty neat. they do a cool demo w/ vehicles & smoke bombs & things. then my mom got to pin my brother w/ his blue infantry cord.

Try for on post... if they are full... the closest most decent hotel around ft. benning (most for money/very helpful staff) Econo Lodge on Victory Drive. I was there about a month ago. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were clean, they had a continental breakfast...it was the closest thing to staying on post you could get. I highly highly reccoend them. The cheaper hotels on the same road had druggies and hookers at them that's how I ended up at Econo Lodge. I think it was about $80 a night.
