Are you just going to visit? definitely no. We've ben back to the states twice in the last year and our COLA hasn't been affected. If you moved back, it might be.

the guy at housing is lying to you. As long as you are living in an area that receives COLA, you are entitled to it. And just don't let housing know if you are going to be gone longer than 30 days.

Thanks ladies, i do have another question If I'm gone more than 30 days we still get COLA? I just want to visit for 5 or 6 weeks because my sister is having a baby and this guy is giving me so much crap, I did not tell him how long I was going for but he said if I'm gone more than 30 days then they would call my husband back from Iraq, and if they needed to get inside our house they would have to bring my husband home if I'm not there. .

for these reasons only-- you move, you are gone longer than 30 days and they find out-- but most do not find out or come back on the 29th day!!

As long as you are gone less than 30 days or don't tell housing you are gone longer than that, you should be fine.

oh and that is about calling your husband home to get into your house. If you live in housing here, in your contract you give permission for a housing supervisor to enter if needed in emergency situations and for scheduled maintenance(twice a year) if no one is home and no prior arrangements have been made.
