    Reservist Benefits

    Advertisements
Can an active reservist still use the commissary, exchange and other military benefits?

Also, we'll be married when he's a reservist, do reservist spouses get military ID's?

I'm at work and can't talk to Mike right now, and I'm wondering about it. Can you tell I'm bored at work!

Thank you for my siggy Stacey!

I actually have no clue! I think they get tricare & part of the GI bill though?

    Is that what it's called?

That's great..not that we'll even live near a base with a commissary or anything. Just good to know if we someday do.

I don't think we'll be needing the insurance because we'll have it either through my job or his civilian job.

You can use your ID for the exchange, commi, etc. You have to pay for Tricare.. and your DH will have the full GI bill!
.. I've done some research, DH will be going from AD to reserves in a couple months.

Yes, you get an ID card and you can use the commissary, etc. and get military discounts at places that have them with your ID just like a regular AD person. One thing reservists don't get is the automatic tricare coverage.
