    Help Tricare/Ambulance Questions

    Advertisements
Does anyone know if I will have to pay for an ambulance ride from my home to the naval hospital in Portsmouth? Will I have to pay for the ER visit? I am under Tricare Prime.

    Thank you!

I had to be taken by ambulance to the ER a couple of years ago, and Tricare did pay for it (I was on Tricare Prime too).

    Are you okay?

As long as it's a real emergency requiring ambulance transport, they should cover it. Hope everything is ok.

was it an emergency, or is it for something you have coming up? If it is an emergency they should cover it...however my ds had to be taken by ambulance once and I got a bill from the ambulance company like a year later. I just had to contact tricare and they took care of it. If it is for something you have coming up I would definitely call tricare to see if they will cover it. For just about a 4 mile ride ds's bill was almost 1,000 bucks.

Thank you. It was blacking out, nausea, diarreah, leg cramping, heart pounding, dizzy, weak and shaking. They had to hook me up to an IV right away and kept me in the ER for 6 hours! I got 2 bags of fluid.
